There are better ways to start negotiations.\n\nIf you want to sit and wait for long periods of time for offers on your trade in, by all means go there.\n\nI had to edit this!\n\nSo I receive a text from my wife the day after, the salesman left her a voice mail stating the car we test drove the previous day was gone, but there are others we may be interested in and he can get us close to what we were asking for her trade in. \n\nOtherwise he is trying to unload old inventory we were not there for, and he would be willing to get closer to what we wanted for her car if we gave up what we originally came into the dealership for.\n\nHere is the fun part, after my wife told me he said the car we test drove was gone, I went on their website and found it still posted, assuming it didn't get taken down yet I called in from my cell number which they don't have on file. I talked to a different salesmen saying I was on their website, and wanted to know if this specific car was still available and asked him to double check before I came in to check it out.
