"2011-10-30T00:00:00"^^ . "Right at the corner of Yonge and King, Petite Thuet is barely noticeable amongst their big coffee chains neighbours, like Starbucks, Tim Hortons and Second Cup. However, if you're on the hunt for non-franchised, non-cookie-cutter, rich and legit cup of coffee or espresso to start/ end a typically hectic and extremely stressful day on Bay Street, this little sophisticated and elegant french cafe is perfect for you. I love their coffee and espresso. Particularly the espresso. I like my espressos the way I like my red wines: smooth, full bodied, bold, and dark. Their coffee and espresso is a tad more expensive than their franchised competitors, but I don't mind spending extra money on quality, especially for espressos. Do you know how hard it is to find good espresso in the Bay Street area? Very hard because neither Second Cup or Starbucks (the most common coffee cafes in the area) serve good espressos. \n\nA word of caution: they do not have lids for their take-out cups for espressos. There were so many times I wanted to surprise a special somebody at his office with their espressos, but couldn't. A lid is necessary to keep the drink hot and flavorful when transporting it elsewhere. Grrrrr.. I would have scored lots of brownie points with him if they had proper take-out supplies for their fine espressos. =P"^^ . "0"^^ . "0"^^ . . "3"^^ . . . "5"^^ .
