Ignore all and any reviews that says macaroon.

The shop itself is right next to the theatre with all the other restaurants. It's small but perfect for what they are, clean and friendly. You know to have high expectations when the young woman behind the counter is French herself.

I got a dozen macarons, 6 chocolates and 2 canelés. They didn't have any canelé in front but I asked if she had any and she promptly went in the back and grabbed 2 very hot and fresh ones for me. The various pastries looked good as well but skipped them. The canelé was almost perfect. Not quite enough caramelization for me but it was decently caramelized and inside was soft and spongy. They might have pulled those 2 out of the oven for me though. It's rare to find canelé in Arizona so I'm certainly not complaining.

Chocolate selection was small with good variety. They weren't very shiny and pretty as many truffles are but still pretty. I tried the balsamic, ghana (ginger), pineapple, noisetier (hazelnut) and tanzanian (75% dark). All flavors were prominent but not overwhelming. Great mix overall.

The star of the show: macaron. I tried 11 flavors and they did not disappoint. They look perfect. Tiny feet, even in size, smooth shells. Outer shell had a nice crunch while the interier was soft and chewy. Fillings were good and not too runny or thick. I tried pistachio (made with real pistachio meal, not just almond), red velvet (cream cheese filling), blueberry lavender, salted caramel (good amount of salt but not enough caramelization on the caramel), bayles (irish cream with booze and you can taste it), praline, earl grey (very subtle), mango (fruit filling), rose (a bit too much rosewater), chocolate and .chocolate orange liquor. None of them were too sweet and while some flavors could use some balancing, most great a great combination. Then again, they have a great base (shell) to work with so it's not hard.

It's a small shop but definitely worth checking out if you enjoy the finer French pastries. Too bad it's quite a drive for me or I'd go more often!"^^ . . "4"^^ . "3"^^ . "2017-01-18T00:00:00"^^ .
