So I go in every now and then to check up on what's new in specific sections. \n\nIn the middle of the first floor the new release paperback tables are fun to browse. There is a huge section with board games and puzzles, etc. behind the information desk. And I really like the philosophy, self-help and business sections upstairs. They have chairs and plenty of room to spend standing or walking around comfortably. It's usually nicely air conditioned as well. \n\nDownstairs next to the checkout lines they have journals and notebooks. I recently started using a Bullet Journal (like bullet points - fast journaling for work and personal organization) and they have them in stock with the high quality Moleskin and others on the wall.\n\nI will never get one of their membership cards and I'm really tired of being asked every time I check out at the register. They ask three different ways every time and end with \"Are you sure?\" Yes, I'm sure. You have to pay for it and it's not like Amazon Prime where you get real perks like free and fast delivery, movies to stream and other perks. If Barnes & Noble delivered the books to me I might try it. Otherwise I'm already inundated with a lifetime's worth of free \"saver\" emails and junk from other businesses. I know it would just feel like a guilt trip to get back into the store to make sure I get my value out of it. So I skip it completely.\n\nBut when I know B&N has a book I want I'm willing to drive to the store and pay them. Even if it's cheaper on Amazon I know I'm helping Barnes & Noble keep their business going. Plus I get the book \"right now\" and the instant gratification is worth the few extra bucks.\n\nAlthough it can take a while to get someone's attention at the information desk, when I can't find something the staff will usually walk me right to it which I appreciate. \n\nStarbucks in the first floor cafe is another reason I keep going back. You can't use your Starbucks app or gift cards though so have your credit or cash ready."^^ . "0"^^ . "2018-05-17T00:00:00"^^ . .
