"At first, this family-run martial arts program seems a solid choice for kids and adults alike; my child enjoyed many aspects of the Dragons program, and felt a great sense of accomplishment when testing for a new belt. However, as time passed the negatives quickly began to outweigh the positives; the instructors at the Gilbert dojo, in particular, have massive attitude problems and treat the kids cruelly at times. As a parent, I have been forced to intervene in punishments like forcing five-year-olds to perform strenuous exercises outside in 110-degree heat, and then refusing then water, or the instructor threatening to kick my child out of the program for failing to understand the instructions given the first time. The last straw, however, was a confrontation with the dojo owner's son, who called me and my son liars to our faces when I told him his dojo mats were filthy and that the kids were teaching in dog feces. He explained that the floors were not cleaned every day, and that they had no intention of changing that policy. Because much of what the kids are forced to do requires them to touch the mats with hands, feet, and even faces, for the sake of protecting my son's health I was forced to pull him out. Be warned: These people will be all smiles and politeness at first, but if you manage to get on their bad side, they'll treat you like dirt until you drop out."^^ . "0"^^ . . "0"^^ . . .
