. "Wifey and I visited on a Sunday. I learned about Frank Lloyd Wright when attending ASU (Go Devils!) a few years (er, decades) ago. I was going to follow one of two career paths; alas, architecture lost out to another path. Regardless, the few architecture classes I took were etched indelibly in my then long-haired cabeza. I always considered FLW as my favorite architect because of his organic approach to style, using and building upon nature. I took an architecture river cruise in Chicago several years ago and had anticipated visiting Taliesin West for as long as I can remember. Alas, the memory and legends are sometimes greater than the reality. Or, perhaps it was our tour guide. Nonetheless, while it was very enjoyable, it was certainly not as great as what I had expected. Part of this was our tour guide. While very knowledgeable, she was overly verbose and lost track of time. Our tour was supposed to be 90 minutes long, but she went over by 20 minutes, followed by a 5-minute spiel from another staff person pushing for membership. The whole presentation came across almost as cult-ish. Perhaps another tour guide would have given us a better experience."^^ . "0"^^ . "4"^^ . "2018-02-20T00:00:00"^^ . . . "1"^^ . "0"^^ .
