Scottsdale, my favorite getaway, beckoned with 90+F wall-to-wall sunshine. \n\nAfter a few days of lounging at Valley Ho's great pool, I put down my Margarita and called Detours for the Sedona tour.\n\nConcerning Detours, it was love at first sight. I called their 800 number and the staff were extremely helpful. On the day of my tour, Detours kept in touch with me, letting me know when I'd be picked up.\n\nOur guide, Memo, is/was a scholar and a gentleman. What a great guy! \n\nMemo rolled with the punches when people were late and needed to be picked up elsewhere. He handled this with finesse.\n\nAs the tour began, Memo's fund of knowledge became apparent. I learned so much! For example, the impact of altitude on flora and fauna, water conservation and non-native plants, water politics in the southwest, rainfall, Montezuma's Castle, etc. Memo knows!\n\nThe tour, again, rocked. We had numerous great stops before arriving in Sedona. Memo showed his in-depth knowledge of Bell Rock, Montezuma's Castle, the Cathedral and Sedona.\n\nMemo made the tour.\n\nBottom Line: Go to Detours when in Phoenix! Next time, I'll go on the Tombstone and Grand Canyon tour.\n\nThanks, Memo!!!"^^ . "0"^^ . "0"^^ .
