I think the pictures here on Yelp can help to show off their decorations and the kind of feel this place has. After ordering and paying for the cakes at the counter, they'll bring it over to your seat with your drink or some water.\n\nAll the cakes (total of 4) that I've tried here are more on the dense and sweet side. Although I'm usually more for the fluffy/light type (I grew up on Japanese-style cakes), I still really enjoy the cakes here. Rather than being like the cakes at a Japanese or French patisserie, the cakes here remind me of the cakes that the mother of my childhood friend made. Cakes that are like what I would imagine the best home-baker in town would make. Rich and flavorful, with delicious cream (NOT hardened frosting!). Except unlike a home-baker's offerings, at Butterwood you get to choose what you want out of an entire display case of drool-worthy, uniquely flavored goodies! \n\nFor the price, size, and heaviness of a slice, I would say that you could probably share a slice between two people if you're not super hungry. I'll be back the next time I'm out and craving sweet things late at night. On my next visit, I'd love to try their hot chocolate!"^^ . "0"^^ . "0"^^ . . .
