The dishes are simple and there is enough variety to appease just about anybody. The main problem with this restaurant is the execution of these dishes. The food is bland, vegetables are soggy and wet, and the meat substitutes are poorly prepared and undercooked. I have been a vegetarian for 16 years, and I eat mostly vegan. My diet consists mostly of fresh vegetables, so I am no stranger to this type of cuisine. The ingredients used are fantastic, they just need to better season and cook them. If that were to happen, 2 stars would be added to this review. The other star would be earned from making the dining room more comfortable. Every table was filthy, and I mean filthy. Crusted old liquids and crumbs adorned them all. The thermostat is dangling from an electrical wire from the ceiling in the middle of the restaurant. The wall paint is splotchy and unfinished. \n\nWhile this review is very critical (as reviews should be), it is not intended to damage this restaurant's reputation. The owners have a very solid idea, but it is obvious that there is an absence of a talented chef. If the Pomegranate Cafe invests in paying more attention to flavor and a more inviting atmosphere, they will have a 5-star restaurant."^^ . . "0"^^ . "2012-04-01T00:00:00"^^ . "3"^^ . "2"^^ .
