I cannot wait until my lease is over to get out of here - and I would break my lease if the idea of giving these people more money didn't make me ill. I've lived here for about 10 months now.\n\n1. It always takes them several days to complete any kind of repairs on the apartment. It doesn't matter if it's big or little - if an appliance breaks, or the faucet in your kitchen stops working. It's always \"We'll get that taken care of right away\", and then you have to call and call every day until they send maintenance out. \n\n2. Once maintenance finally gets to your apartment, they may or may not actually knock on your door before they leave a \"we were here but you weren't\" notice. We've had to call maintenance back after they said they knocked and got no answer. We were sitting next to the door waiting for them. There was no knock. \n\n3. Assuming you're able to get maintenance back to your apartment that day (which may not happen), they may also go ahead and fiddle with something, tell you the problem is fixed, then leave - only for the problem not to actually be fixed. And good luck not having to call the office again and again to get maintenance back a second (or third, or fourth) time. \n\n4. It takes them forever to complete any kind of upkeep or maintenance work. They wait until the potholes are as big as a Civic to repave the parking lot. They'll send you a notice that they're completing work on your building, and then it will be months later that the actual work is done. It's probably because of the way they cycle through the buildings, doing them one by one, but they send all the notices to all the buildings at once. \"Because we've given you timely notice, we won't be responsible for damages.\" Except their 'timely notice' came weeks or months ago.\n\n5. Any verbal agreement with the office is null and void if it's inconvenient for them. Get EVERYTHING in writing. They towed our car after telling us they would put the car on a \"no-tow\" list. Then they refused to bring the car back, and said \"well I guess you better go down to the towing agency and demand your car back, or report it stolen, or something\". We called the office when we got the tow-warning (car had expired plates because we were in the process of trying to find a place to junk the car) on the car and were told not to worry about it. \"Just get rid of the car when you can.\" After the car was towed, it was \"Well, your lease clearly says ... and we're not responsible for informing you of the terms\". So they basically stole our car and then refused to do anything about it, and threw it all onto the towing company. \n\n6. They don't do any upkeep on their amenities. If you have kids and you're excited that there's a playground here, you should be aware that there's half a sad swing on there, and all the climbing equipment is rusty. The pools are disgusting. The fitness center is only available during business hours, so if you're hoping to use it before or after work, tough luck. There's dog crap everywhere, which they don't ever clean up or require dog owners to clean up. Watch where you step.\n\n7. They do nothing about noise complaints. We have one particularly noisy neighbor (that has thankfully moved out now) who used to blast music every single night. We called security when our walls were vibrating at 11:30 at night, every night. They went and knocked on the door, but when there was no answer (probably because the neighbors couldn't hear the knock over the music), all we got was a big fat \"oh sorry, nothing else we can do\". \n\nThe people who work here are dishonest, the actual grounds are gross, and you may or may not get your property stolen without even an apology if you live here. There's no place like home!\n\nEdit 8/22/15: As Michelle helpfully pointed out below, they repaved. The potholes are now gone, yay. Unfortunate that they got to be roughly the size of a city block before management did anything about it, but at least they did. Cool. \n\nOne side effect of their continued attempt to improve (I guess?) is that we now have roofers working on our building! The roofers start staging and putting up their ladders at approx. 5am, and the noise starts in earnest by 6am. The roofers are very polite, and I have to be up at 5am anyway, so they don't bother me. They get started early because it gets stupid-hot bully 10am in this area. Which I get. Superstition Vista helpfully informed us that the roofers would be here - by dropping a flier off a few days AFTER there were workers stomping on my roof at 5:30am. The flier also helpfully told me that the roofers would be working 8am-4pm. Not sure if the management is dishonest or just poorly informed. It's like they forget sometimes that, while they work here, there are people who LIVE here. \n\nAt least there aren't bugs. I have a friend who found a roach in their apartment the other day (at another complex) and I was glad I never had that issue!"^^ .
