To its credit, it is indeed a clean, organized salon with modern decor, great opening hours and nice little lockers to keep your stuff in while you get your hair done!\n\nI saw lots of customers getting great haircuts while I was there, so if you are going in for a cut, I'd say go for it. I went in for a perm so perhaps that was my problem. I've never had a perm and explained everything about my hair to my stylist: it's fine and straight, never holds curl well, and had been coloured about 10 months ago. She didn't have any reservations about going ahead - we picked a photo which matched the curl I wanted, and I emphasized that I wanted her to err on the curlier side so it didn't fall flat too fast. I got a regular chemical perm, and when the whole process was over... well, there was basically no perm. My stylist noted that it was 'looser than she thought it would be', and told me to spin my hair around in my fingers when drying it to try to bring out the curl. They sent me out of the salon without drying or styling my hair, and by the time I walked down the street to meet friends 10 minutes later, my hair was dry and my friends said, \"oh, I guess you decided not to get the perm today?\"\n\nI tried to work with it at home but there was no curl to be had - just dry, breaking, rough, messy-looking hair. I came back to the salon 1 week later and explained all of this to my stylist. Her idea was to do another, tighter perm on top of the other one - I refused, seeing as I already had experienced so much damage with the first one. I asked for my money back ($200), and while my stylist agreed this would be appropriate, the manager did not. She instead explained to me that they 'had done nothing wrong' and had explained everything to me before the perm, including the possibility of failure (which was not true). I really couldn't believe that she was looking at my non-curly, messy, dried out shock of hair and refusing to take any responsibility for having done a bad job. In the end I stood my ground and managed to get half my money back and a protein treatment to try to make my hair look a bit more normal. It only helped a bit.\n\nIn summary: I paid $100 to wreck my hair. I do feel that a smarter salon would have tried to make amends rather than make excuses, in order to keep me as a customer. I would not recommend this salon for a perm because it doesn't seem they have the skills or technology to deal with different types of hair."^^ . . "2"^^ . "2"^^ .
