"Extremely pushy, and genuinely manipulative staff. \n\n(Note: I googled this place after my encounter with them, and found similar experiences reported in reviews of pretty much every location of theirs across the world...) \n\nMy experience:\n\nOkay. So. I was walking down the street, feeling fairly happy and carefree. A tall man with an accent (which also seems to be an almost universal part of the reviews I read, wtf?) handed me a small sample packet, which I accepted with a smile and nod, expecting to continue walking. \n\nInstead, I saw he was saying something to me, so I took off my headphones - and that was where the trouble began. He kept talking to me as he started walking into the store, basically luring me to follow. For the rest of my time there, he continued using tons of sales tactics obviously designed to force you to feel horribly rude if you don't follow him and do exactly as he says. \n\nI ended up sitting down in the chair, and he gave me a demonstration of the products (an exfoliant and a moisturizer) on the backs of my hands, all the while showing me my face in the mirror and pointing out all the \"flaws\" in my skin, as if he were oh so concerned for me. \n\nHe gave a ridiculously hard sell, and then told me this whole BS about how \"normally they're so-and-so price, but today they're 2 for 1\". Finally he started telling me he was so happy for me that I had decided to buy it, and excited for my new routine, and to please come back soon so that he could see the wonderful difference, and \"here, you know what? Let me get you a receipt right now, so that next time you can show it and get exactly the same price when you refill.\" It was then that I realized he was telling me that I was buying it, despite my never having said anything like this . I felt like I was being mugged. It was a very gross experience.\n\nI told him that I did not actually have my wallet on me. He looked concerned and then said he was just going to go and ask his manager something really quickly. Then after a couple minutes he came back and said that just for me, he would give me half price (still ludicrously expensive). He talked at me for another few minutes about how generous and special this was, and I let him finish, and then I repeated that, while that was very nice of him to tell me all of this, like I said, I did not have my wallet on me. \n\nInstantly, his face changed completely, and he looked at me with unmasked disgust. His smile and 'concern'-look dropped to non-existence, and he said \"Well, I hope you make the right decision for the future of your skin.\" I was taken aback, and smiled and said \"Alright, well have a good day!\" He just glared at me like he wanted to burn me at the stake, and watched me leave the store.\n\nYelp doesn't let me give 0 stars, so let's just attribute this one star to this place's success as a kind of performance art of nastiness.\n\nSteer a wide berth."^^ . .
