"2"^^ . "This place is a huge rip off in terms of price. The owner quotes one price and ends up charging double in the end. I had purchased two of the following vouchers.\n\n\"Voucher for $39 for a Wash, Cut, Style, and Partial Highlights OR Colour\n-Additional charges apply for longer or coarse hair, subject to stylist judgment\n-Colour option includes only one tube of colour - Additional charge of $12 for each additional tube of colour applied\"\n\nI had purchased two vouchers, one for myself and one for my mom. I have mid-waist length, black hair. My mom has shoulder-length black hair that she colours (brown) regularly at home and has some grey hair at the roots.\n\nI called to make an appointment two weeks in advance. I was given two back to back appointments for the same day. However, when they called the day before to confirm the appointment times, they told both me and my mom to come at the same time.\nOn the day of the appointment, I wanted to confirm the time once again so I called and was told that they are overbooked. The receptionist told me they only had time to do one person. I really needed the cut and colour and so did my mom, as we had a party to go to the next day so I insisted on keeping the appointment. Finally, very reluctantly they told us to come but warned us that we may need to wait 15 minutes or so.\n\nWhen we arrived, the place was full and we had to wait half an hour just for our consultation. Shaunte (the owner's daughter) did my hair. Donna (the owner) did my mom's hair. I wanted to keep the same colour but wanted to add some shine and for the cut, I just wanted a trim. Shaunte told me that because I had long hair, there would be an extra charge per tube ($12 per tube). I agreed to that. She used a total of two tubes for me. If you notice, in the voucher description, it says that one tube is covered. So really I should have been charged only $12 for the extra tube. However, when my bill came, I was billed $30 plus tax plus the tax on the voucher amount of $40 (I'm not sure how they even arrived at the $30. That implies she used 2.5 tubes but she only used 2 tubes in total and one was supposed to be covered in the voucher price).\n\nNow, my mom's was a whole different story. Donna said the voucher only covers root touch-up and not full colour, for those people who have grey hair. However, nowhere is this mentioned anywhere on the voucher. My mom's hair was brown from her own routine at home. And she wanted light brown colour. Donna told her it's impossible to get the chemicals out without bleaching and that it would cost us upwards of $300 so it is simply not do-able. She offered an alternative, which was to do root touch up (same colour as what my mom had) and then colour the bottom hair light brown to give the effect of whole head being coloured. She quoted $30 for this. I said okay let's do that.\nGuess what, when the bill came, they charged us $60 plus tax plus the tax on the voucher amount of $40.\n\nIn total, I paid $80 for the vouchers plus $113 the day of appointment. We were made to wait several times in between. My mom had it the worst. They washed her colour and had her sit and wait on Donna for half an hour while Donna went and attended to another customer (who I'm guessing was paying full price so they were given priority over us buytopia customers). My mom always gets sick if she doesn't blowdry her hair right after washing. So someone blow-dried her hair and she got a dry cut later on. In between serving us, the stylists were giggling around, talking and singing songs out loud. In the middle of my blowdry, Shaunte went looking for the remote to the radio so she can change the station.\n\nThe cut my mom and I received was good. But it was not something extraordinary that another place would not have been able to achieve. I have had much better service at other places before for less than half the price that these people billed us. What I found most annoying was that they had quoted $30 for my mom and $12 per tube for me, but ended up more than doubling both and simply said in the end, \"no this was discussed beforehand, you must have misunderstood us\".\n\nI feel like they only promoted their new salon through this deal so they can tempt customers to come to their place but once in, they trapped customers to charge ridiculous prices. The colour service was supposed to be part of the voucher but I feel they charged me regular price anyway. I would have never gone to their salon if it was not for the deal I bought. I was looking to save some money but still wanted to get decent service. Even though the cut was reasonable, the service was sub-par and we were made to feel like third-class or thrifty customers. I wouldn't go to this place again."^^ . "2013-08-10T00:00:00"^^ . "16"^^ . . . "0"^^ . . "1"^^ .
