"\"A GRIM AND FROSTBITTEN KINGDOM\"\n\nPart 5.\n\nWith no safe or practical way to get to my house, we got off the 48A bus on 10th Street and waded through the snow to find this oasis of a Holiday Inn. Kay's father had a free night since his job required a good bit of travel and booked us a room. \n\nWe were saved!!!! Praise the Lord and throw Jack Frost the bird! \n\nI don't stay in too many hotels, but I must say that this was pretty nice, and the people working here treated us like relatives. \n\nClean sheets, floor, bathroom, carpet, comfy bed and environs: no complaints. \n\nThey had cable!!! We watched Robot Chicken as we waited for pizza. They even gave us a noon checkout since we arrived late in the evening. \n\nDry, warm, and safe, Kay and I embraced and put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door once the pizza came. Awwww. Cue the credits. \n\nI'll knock off a half-star for the creaky beds (people must have thought we were newlyweds) and for the free breakfast which included omelets made from an egg-like substance and bacon that tasted like meat-flavored strips of dried paint. \n\nBut hey, we had a place to shower up and snuggle in, and that was all that mattered on this frostbound disaster of a night."^^ .
