. "2"^^ . . . "Will continue to shop mainly at Trader Joes and the farmers markets while using Sprouts for things I can't get at TJ (like Endangered Species chocolate). This chain is not my #1 choice for grocery stores. This store is a mile away from my house, yet I'll continue to go to the Trop/Pecos store for the larger variety.\n\nThis new store is HALF the size of the other 2 stores in town. (Took over the space of a drug store, rather than the larger former Wild Oats grocery store next door). Therefore, less food choices. Aisles are narrow and can be a nightmare manuevering around all the people in the aisles. Not enough room for 2 shopping carts side by side. This review is mainly for organic and vegan items. Why they didn't use the Wild Oats space next door has got to be the dumbest business decision ever made.\n\nOrganic produce:\nStill has an overabundance of conventional produce (6 tables) compared to organic (1 table). The labelling needs updating. There's this big long banner \"ORGANIC\" across the entire row of cold display, yet organics are in reality only 1/2 of the display. I was standing looking confused at the big sign and no organic in front of me. The lady next to me said she did the same thing (searching for the organic produce). Cold organic produce is not well marked and that big banner is definately confusing.\n\nStandard organic produce, mainly from Mexico and S America. Apples were from US. Prices were higher than Trader Joes, less than Whole Foods & conventional grocery stores. \n\nBreads:\nMainly Sprouts brand. Lot of pre-frozen loaves and rolls (like Rudi's). Not a lot of vegan varieties as 99% contained honey.\n\nBulk:\nNOT ONE ORGANIC CHOICE. Mainly conventional snacks, nuts, flours, candy and beans. Organic \"bulk\" is prepackaged (which kinda defeats the \"bulk\" concept).\n\nGrocery:\nDefinately missing the space here. Not a huge selection and what is there is just 2-3 choices (Sprouts brand and 1-2 national brands). Lots of organic, limited selecton of vegan. Got some Amys soups on sale for $2 each and a big bag of Lundberg rice at $2 (normally $8). \n\nCold/frozen:\nLots and lots of vegan milks, cheeses and other fridge items. Of course, not a lot of choices for each selection eg 2 flavors of milks, yogurt. cheese etc\n\nFrozen is WAAAAAY smaller than normal. Maybe 3 doors worth of products. Saw some vegan pizza, a couple of Amy's entrees and wraps. veggie burgers, seitan wraps and that about it for frozen. Dessert choices are a couple of ice cream pints, Tofutti novelties and some fruit bars. Very disappointing.\n\nVitamins:\nIf vegan, don't even bother looking. Only vegan I could find was B-12 tabs.\n\nOn the plus side, all the staff were extremely friendly and pleasant. Not sure if its because they just opened, if it has to do with the caliber of staff or the location of the store, but whatever it is... hope it stays this way."^^ . "2014-05-06T00:00:00"^^ . "2"^^ .
