I lived in Boulder City for sometime when I was a kid and I always looked forward to Art in the Park. The festival mainly sits in the heart of Government Park. They provide shuttles to and from the park but since I know my way all around the town, I always find parking just a stones throw from the festival. I don't get to go every year but try to take my Mom for sure each time I go as she enjoys it.\n\nThis year was no exception in terms of having crafty, jewelry laden booths. There is so much to see and choose from in terms of shopping. What I did notice is the lack of art in terms of painting. In the early years of this festival, there was always a\nlarge amount of paintings from water colors to oil. Most of the artists that participated were very talented and I learned a lot about art from some of these artists. Now I feel this festival has turned into a giant craft show. Not that I don't appreciate people's craftiness, jewelry making and photography but I am also coming to see more than wreaths, candles, and woodwork.I did see some sculptures and another booth that featured wire art which I really liked but overall I feel that Art in the Park should be renamed. \n\nI loved that they have an aisle dedicated to food and drink booths and was happy to purchase a Dole Whip featured in two flavors - pineapple and mango! Thanks Chilly Jillyz! \n\nIf you have never been I highly recommend getting out there and walking around. It is a fun way to spend an afternoon."^^ . "4"^^ .
