I let it go too long because I am financially in the hole, and slowly getting back on my feet. As a single home owner making minimum wage I was nervous about what this would set me back, and planned to go with the lowest estimate.\n\nI found Stell Roofing online and loved the reviews, although I was concerned that such a good company would be out of my price range. Michael answered and spent over 30 min on the phone with me getting roof information, answering questions, learning my financial situation, and what would be best for me. \n\nHe came out the day I called, because he knew I had to be out of town that night and wouldnt be back for a week. He came out to my house even though I was a little bit outside the area that he services. He looked at what needed to be done, gave me a fair estimate, gave me advice (if I was to go with another roofer, be careful of these things, and here's where I can get info on their licenses, and here's what I should pay for these materials, etc.) I told him I unfortunately couldnt go with his company (it was over my budget) and he then generously helped me by looking at my other estimates and giving me free advice. I was planning on going with the lowest estimate, and he advised me to do my research on that company because of some red flags he noticed. I did, and I'm so glad I did. They weren't licensed or bonded and were planning to use the wrong material! As I looked into the other estimates I found similar deal-breakers. Some bad reviews, some misquotes about materials needed, some not doing what actually needed to be done (just covering up the real problem.)\n\nIn the end I decided to go with STELL simply because Michael gave me so much time and free advice and not to sway my decision (I had been firm about my budget). I knew I was getting the best material and expertise, and that it would be worth the price in the end. Also he let me pay after the work was done, I could mail in a check or leave it under the mat (I was out of town for work when they did the roof). They were fast, friendly, clean, nice with my dog, and did a fantastic job.\n\nRegarding price: You pay for what you get. The original price was fair, not cheap. That was the only concern for me because of my financial situation right now. But for all the extra work and materials he put in, it ended up costing far less than it should have, and I know I had the job done right and with the best materials. He didn't go above my estimate because he knew I couldn't afford to, even though halfway through the job he and his men found out that my wood was rotted and actually needed (1/3 the price) more in materials and time! He ended up paying for it out of his own pocket! Never even asked me for the money.\n\nHe truly is a caring person and pays it forward. I will always recommend his company because of this. The roof looks great. Later, I saw something that I had a question about something regarding my shingles, so sent someone out again just to look at it and make sure it was 100% perfect for me. \n\nI couldn't be happier. He helped me more than I could even imagine. I dont even think he made money off of my job, when all is said and done. I hope to be able to repay his kindness with word-of-mouth recommendations!\n\nHere's the work Stell Roofing did on the roof:\ntore off my entire patio\ninstalled a 10 year peel and stick modified rubber roof \ninstalled a new 2 x 2 metal drip edge\nfree:\ninstalled 50 lineal feet of 2 x 8 rough sawn facia board \ninstalled 50 lineal feet of 2 x 2 rough sawn drip molding\ninstalled 1-14 foot 2 x 6 truss\ninstalled 4- 4 x 8 by half inch sheets of CD X plywood. \n\nI would never have been able to get this service and price with any other roofer. I am beyond grateful for this experience and will recommend them to everyone from now on.\n\nSara"^^ . . "2015-06-07T00:00:00"^^ . "0"^^ . "0"^^ . . .
