"I know they are doing fabulous work for the animals at the shelter I especially know lately due to the fact that I have gone there a dozen times in the last month trying to adopt a dog due to the fact that my previous dog of 15 years passed away over the Thanksgiving holiday. Every time I go in to look at the dogs and possibly consider rescuing one ,I see one that I feel may be a good fit with my other rescue dog ,and every single time I go to speak to the young people at the counter they find some reason or another not to even allow me to see the animals. I have been rescuing and training my dogs for over 50 years and to have someone that is barely 20 years old determined by looking at me that a dog would not be a good fit I find very insulting. It seems like these people are trying to find ways not to have these animals rescued I understand they are in contact with them on a daily basis but the real objective is to find a good match for a pet and a prospective rescuing parent. The dog that just passed away at 15 as well as my other dog who is five we're both rescues from this facility. It's very obvious to me I am going to have to find another place to see if I can rescue a dog .The comment that bothered me the most is when they asked me to check how old I am ,I said I am 63 ,the girl looked at me and said you do realize this dog could be alive for another 10 years. Wow."^^ . "3"^^ . "0"^^ .
