I moved to an upgraded upstairs unit and it's shaded by trees, and doesn't get much afternoon or morning sun. Living upstairs has definitely improved my opinion of the apartment complex, mostly because I can get a full night of sleep. It's pretty quiet and peaceful.\n\nThe unit is decent, with new wood laminate floors, upgraded bathroom fixtures, really nice kitchen and dining room lighting upgrades, nice wooden blinds, and painted walls and accent walls that really make the place look put together. There isn't a plain white wall in the place and it looks nice and warm.\n\nThere are still the usual maintenance problems that most apartments encounter: older AC that needs maintenance in the summer, my dishwasher has had some troubles, but nothing really crazy. My AC is really old and definitely struggles to keep up with the intense Arizona heat, but when it actually went out they repaired it pretty quickly. The maintenance staff still struggles with completing non-emergent maintenance requests in a timely manner. When renewing my lease I requested a number of small maintenance items- a new bathroom sink and tub faucet (mine were corroded), some touch up paint around the new doors they had installed, and some other superficial fixes. I waited three weeks since it wasn't emergent, then called to find out that they had marked my order as completed! Nothing had been done. It took 4 calls and throwing a hissy fit in the office before my maintenance was completed 4 months later. Once it was actually done they did an awesome job. Moral of the story, you just have to keep on it until the order is complete.\n\nI still feel like it's a pretty safe complex, I've never had any problems with theft, people loitering about, and certainly no violence. I feel comfortable in the complex even late at night. I've never had any real pest control issues, and they will do preventative pest control any time you ask.\n\nI love the neighborhood that I live in, but I probably won't renew my lease for a fourth year because of the old AC unit and the skyrocketing rent prices (though ALL rental rates are going nuts). In the last year they've raised the pet rent, raised the rent by almost 10% consistently per year and the new move in rates are ridiculous. If the rates weren't going crazy and I was confident in my AC unit I would probably stay another year."^^ . "2016-09-16T00:00:00"^^ . .
