"DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! \n\nSo I personally LOVE to go to Timeshare Presentations because I can always get AWESOME gifts for my time.\n\nWe recently went to a BBQ festival in Chandler and a Sedona Highlands Resorts vendor tent was there, we were stopped and offered several \"gifts\" for attending a 90 min presentation at the Highlands office in North Phoenix. \n\nWe were offered $50 cash, 4 movie tickets, 50.00 dinner gift card and a \"free\" vacation. \n\nI am seasoned in timeshares and have some family members that use them and others that have been completely ripped off. This is one of those companies that is a TOTAL SCAM. They tried to offer us a membership that was posed as real estate through RCI, to book vacations at a discounted value. \n\nDuring the sales pitch our presenter began to talk about all the vacations he has taken thanks to RCI. I looked at all the pictures and noticed that all the employees were in the same places, TOGETHER. Then I noticed that all their presentation material was dated, and used by all of them, same pitch, same vacation stories.... I started getting creeped out and after our 90 min we just wanted to get out of there. \n\nI went to the bathroom and began to read many reviews about not being able to book trips due to availability with RCI and of course I came across Yelp. Honestly with Groupon, Expedia, Tripmasters and all the different search engines out there, timeshares have become obsolete. This is basically a scam to charge you a $10,000 membership fee, including 12% interest and yearly HOA fees to maintain a membership to a travel search engine for the next 7 years. \n\nAfter saying no we had to end with 2 closers to wrap up the presentation and receive our gifts. The closers were very rude and condescending, they even continued to try to drop the price from $10k to $249 a year to use RCI. \nDONT DO IT!\n\nBy the way, I usually get great gifts when I go to timeshare presentations (like in Mexico or Vegas) where 90 min is not a problem when you are getting free breakfast, several free excursions or awesome Vegas shows (valued at over $100 pp). This however was awful as we only received our $50 cash on the spot and the movie tickets had to be mailed. The restaurant gift card was an expired voucher to Restaurant.com and the free vacation was a voucher that included over $300 in service charges to redeem.... Like I said, don't even bother!"^^ . .
