"(review based on 3.5 stars)\nI was a little surprised at this buffet because I thought it would be better, since the overall rating here is 4 stars and they are advertised as one of the best buffets in Vegas. However, I didn't quite agree with that (Especially with a hefty price tag of about $40 a person, I really was expecting a bit more). But let me tell you about my experience right from the beginning to explain myself.\nMy fiance and I arrived a little before 3:30 pm to catch a very late lunch/ early dinner (at the dinner prices). We had to wait until the people let us in (although there were people already sitting inside the restaurant, leftover from the lunch time group... oh and by the way, if you want crab legs like my fiance did, they only serve it during dinner and not lunch). My initial impression of this place was how beautiful the decor was and the room we were seated in was nice and bright, which I really like (I don't like to sit in a dark room because it can be a big mood killer and also would like to see what I am eating. I think restaurants often times dim the lights so that you can't see how dirty your water glass is or your silverware). \nAfter we were seated at our table, I walked around the entire buffet line just to see what was being offered (remember, you won't be able to try everything, so don't even try to kill yourself over and leave the buffet with an achy belly) and I was actually pretty impressed with some of the dishes, like the Indian food selection (loved, loved, loved the baba ganoush and hummus with the pita triangles) and the salad bar selection. But of course there were also some things that I did not care for like the bread station and make your own pasta section, nor the very small and limited sushi bar section. And I am a little disappointed with the dessert section because I've seen other buffets have a bit more. Maybe I just had too high of standards for this place because usually the desserts at any buffet is what I usually go for first (why do I have to wait til the end to have dessert?). But don't get me wrong, I did like some of the desserts though, like the gelato and the madeleine cookies (although I wished it was dipped in chocolate). \nBut a few misses with the dessert bar section was the crepe station. It was nice that this buffet even offered this feature, but the choices of toppings and fillings were pretty poor. There were no fruits or cream to fill your crepe. You only had choices of chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup and dried apricots. Those choices to me seem more like toppings and not fillings. I liked that you could get caramel apple pops here and also chocolate covered marshmallows, but the marshmallows were a bit hard and not soft. I was also disappointed with the creme brulee that I got because the sugar used for the top was a bit sweeter than your traditional recipe and the actual cream below the caramelized sugar top was a bit runny. Sadly, this just didn't work for my taste buds. \nI think all in all, if this buffet was maybe $10 or more cheaper, then maybe I would give a higher rating. But at $40, I really don't think it's worth the price and will have to venture onward to another buffet in the sin city."^^ . . "2012-08-09T00:00:00"^^ . "0"^^ . . "3"^^ . "1"^^ .
