Monarch went bankrupt and was bought by Diamond Results International. We definitely had problems obtaining reservations through Monarch..eventhough we were \"owners\". And our maintenance fees had risen dramatically from the initial cost.\n\nIn September 2017 my husband and I went to Cancun Las Vegas to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. Of course we were immediately told we should attend an \"update meeting\" and we were reassured it wasn't a sales pitch. It turned out to be a sales presentation, all right!! The sales rep told us that if we didn't upgrade to Diamond Resorts International points, we would only have six properties to choose from in the future. They told us that trying to sell a timeshare associated with a bankrupt company would be impossible and that we would lose the investment we had made. We had supposedly missed a chance to get rid of Monarch property because we didn't attend an \"update\" meeting in June 2017. The sales reps told us we had to write a letter stating we never received notices regarding Monarch's bankruptcy in order for us to get the points and \"special\" pricing they were giving us. Once we agreed to purchase, however, this letter was never mentioned again. There was no need for this letter then was there? That was all hype and sales rhetoric.\n\nBased on what the sales reps told us about the bankruptcy, the six properties, the missed opportunity in June 2017, we felt we had no choice but to buy into Diamond.\n\nThe sales reps exerted great pressure on us to buy right then. It was pathetic and obvious to see how they used techniques to show a common bond with my husband. The manager, Shadi Kassas, spoke extremely fast and we asked him to repeat what he said many times. Eventually we asked him to slow down because we didn't understand a thing he was saying.\n\nWe were also not happy with the quality of the Cancun, Las Vegas during our stay. The first room we check into had no kitchen cabinet and no view. The view was to supposed to be a \"given\". They moved us to a different room. Housekeeping also barged into our room while we were in it. This was so upsetting. A security report had to be done. This incident didn't allow us to relax for the entire rest of our trip.\n\nWe called on Diamond Resorts on September 26th to cancel our contract. We were told we would receive an email regarding our concerns. Jade Charlton emailed us on October 2nd telling us that we were past the rescission date. \n\nWe knew that. The sales reps failed to tell us about the rescission period; we found it later on when reading the documents.\n\nThe salesmen used a high pressure sales pitch to get us to buy, convincing us of the worthlessness of the Monarch timeshare. We want out of both our Monarch and Diamond Timeshares! How unfair to take advantage of our family time to push for a sale. We want both our Monarch and Diamond timeshares cancelled!! Diamond Resorts are frauds!!"^^ . "1"^^ .
