It's been 15 years since my last tattoo, but life threw me a curveball and I wanted to remember it forever. I searched Yelp, and Salt & Light just clicked with me. I was nervous going in, but Joel made me feel comfortable right away. He asked me about the meaning behind my tattoo, and with that knowledge, he helped me design exactly what I was looking for. He was patient and invested in my satisfaction with the result, and that meant a lot. Given that it was such a tiny tattoo, he could have dismissed it, but he made me feel just as important as someone coming in and spending several $100's. My tattoo has spiritual meaning, and he asked me if I'd like to pray before we started - I was blown away and even teared up. What a great place to work, and what an amazing staff. It's a simple tattoo, but I needed it to be perfect, and Joel delivered. It brings me joy every time I look at it. Thank you so much Joel and Salt & Light!

Here's the tattoo meaning if anyone happens to be interested:

A good friend's 11 week-old baby girl was diagnosed with heart failure and placed on the donor list. Having experienced something similar with my son, her journey brought up many emotions I hadn't felt for a long time. During this time for her, I offered support and sent several scriptures. One that ended up speaking to me personally was Psalm 61:2 "When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I." I've lived most of my life in a state of overwhelm, caught up in fear and control. This verse gives me the strength to let go and trust God to lead me, to release my fears to Him. When her tiny baby girl received a heart for transplant, we all watched a pure miracle unfold before our eyes. My Faith was reignited in a way I'll never be able to explain, and I hit the floor and released years of pain that I had been holding tightly to. My tattoo is placed on my left wrist in support of my dear friend and her baby (the same place she got her turtle tattoo). The "lead me" is from the verse, the mountains symbolize "the rock", and I have 3 kids, so the peaks are 3 different sizes to symbolize my 3 children. I love it, and I hope you do, too."^^ . . "0"^^ . .
