. . "SHAME ON COURT. CHEV.NO STARS ! ! ! My wife and I own a 1998 Chevrolet. The car had a problem it would start and drive fine and in 6.2 miles the engine would die as we were driving. rolled it to a stop and 15 min. later it would start and drive 6.2 miles and the motor would die again . I took it to CC to make this problem stop . I got it back later that afternoon asked if they tested it and they said that they had let it idle for a half an hour so it is ok. I spent nearly $600.00 to replace the ignition lock and 2 new keys .(WHICH WAS NOT THE PROBLEM)(a waste of my money) I took it on a test drive and 6.2 miles it died again . They towed it back and told me they would look at it . The next day they told me it was fixed .OVER $200 ( they cut off a connector and connected the wires THEY SAID THAT OIL HAD DRIPPED ON THE CONNECTOR AND MADE IT SO THAT THE CAR WOULD ONLY GO 6.2 MILES(then i would wait 15 min and it would start and drive ) THE PIECE THAT THEY GAVE ME HAD NOT ONE DRIP OF OIL ON IT .. As i was driving out I flashed the head lights to signal the gate guard to let me out.THE HEADLIGHT HIGH BEAM SELECTOR SWITCH WOULD NOT WORK. I was told that if i would swing the steering wheel up the high beam selector would work and it did . This must have been broken when they were fixing the ignition lock as it is in that area.(I was told that it would cost over $200 for parts and labor would be extra) ??? I had the car back (1)wasted $600 on ignition not the problem (2) broke the headlight high beam switch(not working now) // I drove the car for a couple of weeks every day no problems then I did not drive for a few days the battery was drained to 11.39 volts so I charge the battery 12.45 volts and took off the positive connection off the battery and came back 2 days later the battery had not lost any voltage at all!!!!! So there is a SHORT IN THE WIRING , and i checked the charging system and it works very well 13- 14 volts,,they did two thing with the wiring ! ! and they told me that they need to run a diagnostic @ around $149 per hour ... I dont know if they think that they are talking to some one who has no understanding of how automotive things work,, the ignition lock is around $100 or less for parts ,, then they break the high beam switch ,,, the oil on the connector is old service station gotcha ,,, and now, I have a car that will kill the battery if I dont drive everyday? ? ? ? ok I was stupid to take it ta a dealership but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and things are not as easy to do anymore, my wife has a heart condition, and we need a working car SHAME ON COURTESY CHEV.
