I can't believe after all these years of coming to Vegas, I missed a place as sexually pretentious yummy as Scarpetta. \n\nCosmopolitan Hotel is known as the place to see and be seen, and Scarpetta fits the bill as a place to eat sexy, while looking sexy. Like all key restaurants in the Cosmo, I don't consider anyone of them above a 4-star rating, so giving them 4-stars, means that it's among the best that this hotel offers. \n\nYou absolutely MUST try their tomato basil spaghetti. Cooked to al dente perfection, I was simply amazed that I was able to find anywhere. If you're a foie gras fan, this is one of the few places in town that does it beyond right, including their foie gras ravioli. Their branzino is perfection.\n\nBut beyond these dishes, I wasn't overly impressed. Everything else seemed decent, but nothing amazing to the point of worthy mention.\n\nDessert was excellent though, so you definitely don't want to miss that if you have a sweet tooth. I highly recommend the panna cotta. \n\nAtmosphere is where I deduct a star. It's a bit too pretentious and dark for me. It's almost like I took a step back in time to a freak-sex club in the 70s. Think Studio 54 that reincarnated as an Italian restaurant, and you've found Scarpetta. It has an annoying level of pretentiousness, so the only way I'd come back is if I return with a group of people."^^ . .
