I've tried their competitors by mistake, and it's just not the same caliber of tour guides or information. \nIn Toronto, as in other cities I've used the tour, it's a fab & fun way to see a cities many districts and highlights. For instance I'd have never have known Toronto had a famed aquarium! Spotted it on the tour. Also we weren't close to any pick up locations so I researched the closest location to our hotel- another convenient perk, you can catch the tour at any of their stops and buy tickets on the bus. No need to start at stop 1. Our closest stop was Casa Loma, a famed castle in Toronto nestled in a gorgeous neighborhood. Like all the pickup points and stops, it's a high interest location. Hop on hop off focuses on the cities highlights, must see points of interests. It gives you a lay of the land and the friendly guides will offer restaurant recommendations or other advice such as good shopping districts. They also explain a lot of the history of the city. How certain areas have evolved or who the famous architects are that built a museum. We are nerdy and enjoy the history component. \nWe stopped at the harbor and like other guests, we missed the boat tour because it was full and very popular. The boat tour is included with the hop on hop off tickets. I also agree signage is poor so ask your driver before departing. \nI'd definitely recommend doing the boat tour as the first part of your day. A neat feature of the tour in Toronto is your tickets are valid over 2 days vs. just 1 so if you hop off a bunch and don't complete the full tour you can resume the following day. The harbor is lovely with a large waterfront walk. It also happened to have a large festival happening along the waterfront. My understanding is this is a fairly regular occurrence. \n\nWe also jumped off at the Distillery. It's an area recommended to us by local friends and it is a cool shopping center with lots of great restaurants and bars. It's in a converted Distillery hence the name. \n\nAfter experiencing how vast & sprawling Toronto is with traffic to match LA, I think it's even more of a reason to do hop on hop off. We sat in many quiet 30 min uber rides on our visit and we'd both rather be getting some history or cultural information along the way like we can with hop on hop off."^^ . . . . "4"^^ . "4"^^ .
