This was comped for us and probably the reason I over came my hesitancy to visit. \n\nI'm pretty convinced they take good care of their dolphins. The \"performances\" are more enrichment and normal things they would do in the wild. They threw balls into a pool and the trainers walked away to visit the next tank and the dolphins played with balls like toddlers in gym class. They seemed to enjoy life and like they weren't there for my enjoyment... I know that's the case but it doesn't feel as yucky. The trainers weren't forcing them to perform tricks or anything like that. If one of the dolphins hadn't wanted to play with a ball no one would have even cared and there wouldn't have been consequences so I think that's a reasonable situation considering they are still captive animals. \n\nThe cat habitat is kind of cramped but they look like they have at least tried to make it a cool place to hang out. My house cats would probably think I'm the coolest if I set something up like that for them (minus the water misters)... but they are also more domesticated and used to small spaces. Thus I'm not sure about the care of the cats. We went first thing in the morning to try and catch the cats awake but we only managed to see the Jaguar in a state of semi-wakefulness but looking right at us from his hammock and then we were notified the dolphins were being fed and rushed off to see that and the Jag had curled up for a nice sleep by the time we got back. After that point a random leg twitch or a tail swish was the only thing indicating the animals were still alive. For the cats I wish they had different hours - 10 -5 doesn't seem to be a good cat viewing period for these beautiful animals particularly in 100+ degree weather. \n\nWe spent about an hour there with no kids slowing us down. Interactions are randomly spaced so the dolphins don't adapt but we saw 3 dolphin interactions - 1 feeding while getting them to swim around a bit to get the food, 1 vitamin dispensing with a bit of food and a couple jumps and the some food with the balls being thrown into the tank and just letting them play. We got some cute photos of the dolphins and enjoyed seeing those interactions.\n\nAdmission is very expensive though and I'm not sure I'd pay it again. With a discount the price might be a little more what it's worth and I know there are some attraction bundles and stuff available that might make things a bit more reasonable."^^ .
