Knowing that they have plenty of vacancies, I said we should go straight there and see if we can check in. The woman at the desk barely looked up and told us we can't check in yet because it isn't time. She didn't bother checking to see if the room was ready. There are plenty of other places we could stay - maybe I'm spoiled by customer service in Vegas but she could have pretended to check and not sent this family with 2 kids away to do something in this heat for 20 minutes.
