My daughter is extremely shy and the doctor we saw was abrupt, fast-talking, had virtually no compassion or empathy for a crying child. She frightened my daughter even more (not to mention me), when she practically forced my child to undergo an examination of her genitals. I stopped her immediately as she had neither discussed that with me before the visit, nor did she attempt to sooth my daughter ahead of time in a calm, gentle manner (and afterwards it seemed more like a guilt treatment because she was not allowed to proceed. She told my daughter (a 10 year old) to wear sunglasses every day or she would get Macular Degeneration. What 10 year old knows what Macular Degeneration is? She pushed the HPV vaccine hard (of course, it's a money maker for the federal govt), telling my daughter it would prevent head and neck cancers, and that she could get HPV from sharing drinks with her friends. My daughter was very frightened. What doctor would say that to a 10 year old? As for transmitting HPV via shared beverages, that information is incorrect. I checked with two other friends who are physicians and they confirmed it was false. I was unnerved enough about the experience that we left that day without vaccinations. I have since found another doctor who is a much better fit for my family."^^ .
