I remembered the first time I wasn't really disappointed but really wasn't impressed; especially with the portion size for the price. Time has gone by and Jen and I figured why not try it again. \n\nJen ordered the Barcat Oysters and really liked them. We also ordered Crab Cakes as appetizers. I was a little disappointed in the Crab Cakes. Breaded and fried like typical cakes. they were good and the sauce accompanying them was also good. Unfortunately, all crab cakes we eat will be compared to the cakes we had in Sedona at Creekside (see my review and pics). That was at a breakfast type restaurant and you would think a place with Fish House as part of it's name would be able to blow you away with their version. $12 and the portion size also was lackluster.\n\nFor entrees Jen order the Yellowtail Carpaccio and I ordered the Sea Scallops. Jen said it was ok. The mash potatoes as one of my sides and.was very gritty which means they were overcooked. The Mac and Cheese was, well, Mac and cheese. They do sprinkle it with panko breading which I like cause it gives a nice crunch. Portion size on the scallops was ok but they were a little small for sea scallops; quantity of 8. They were good but a little overcooked on one side to the other. I told Jen were just going to Costco for seafood from now on because we can't find a REALLY good seafood place around Phoenix. \n\nBill was $75 and for what we got was too high. We ate at The Keg on Chandler Blvd. a week ago and both had prime rib and a scallops app and it was $10 less. I don't mind paying top dollar for good food and service but I want to get what I pay for. On a final note, our server Korey was really friendly and very helpful when I asked questions about menu items. He was also very attentive and probably the only highlight of our experience there."^^ .
