I was debating on going to Evoke Salon (which I love!) or try out the Aveda Institute, but wanted to try something different. I purchased the hair cut and treatment package, and Amanda was my stylist. \n\nThe treatment itself was very quick and the cut was also very quick. She spent most of the time blow-drying my hair. A nice girl who tried to give me pointers on cowlicks, but in the end I wasn't that impressed with the haircut, it was very average and for the prices they charge ($70) you can definitely find many other better places. Also, as noted by others, they do try to push you to purchase a gift card for a return visit, as well as insist you need some Aveda products. I don't enjoy this \"pushing\" when one is just there for a haircut. Satisfaction with the final result will naturally reflect upon any return visits. \n\nOn my end, I'll either try a new salon next time or just go to Evoke Salon by Yonge/Eglinton to be safe. There are a LOT of salons in Yorkville (aka salon district) - this one does not stand out. Also, tips and taxes have to be paid in cash, no credit or debit."^^ .
