Takes about 2 1/2 hours round trip.  This trail is a popular one on weekends, but is worth the hike !!!  Beautiful views when you get to Tom's Thumb !!  Not much shade.  It is generally windy at the top. Well maintained trails.  We hike this trail often and it is one of our favorites !!!  I am not a dog lover, so I wish they would not allow dogs here, but I know many are happy that dogs are permitted on this trail.  You feel as if you've accomplished something when you do this hike !!!!  Be careful coming down,,,,, we've seen a few accidents wherein the granite rocks have caused people to slip and fall.
