. . "5"^^ . "Autumn Air saved me from an unscrupulous AC company (unfortunately, I had been using that company for seven years or so ... I'll call this other AC company \"AC A\" to distinguish it from Autumn Air).\n\n\"AC A\" installed my AC/heating unit seven years ago. I had problems with it since Day 1. I had to call \"AC A\" day after day, A string of \"AC A\"'s clueless technicians came, charged me for labor, but couldn't get the AC to blow cold air. Nearly a week later, the owner of AC A came to my house, and he repaired the unit with 10 minutes or so.\n\nSo years went by, with many calls to \"AC A.\" I thought about switching companies, but I figured \"AC A\" knew all of the idiosyncracies of my unit. \n\nSo we started having 100+ degrees days last month, and I turned on the AC. The air was cool, rather humid, but definitely not cold. As usual, I called \"AC A,\" who, by the way, employs the rudest receptionist I've ever spoken to. The \"AC A\" technician came two days later. He disassembled my unit (and he kept all the screws when he left too) and said he had to run my garden hose to the unit's compressor, which, he said, was \"burning hot.\" That surprised me because I hadn't turned the unit on for two or three days. He then told me the compressor was \"burnt up,\" that the unit manufacturer had gone out of business so they couldn't get me a new one, and that I had to buy an entirely new unit. Not good news. \n\nI was looking at SRP's website to see if they had any rebates for energy-efficient units. Instead, I entered my info, and an SRP rep called me to say Autumn Air could go to my house. I called Autumn Air, which has a much more pleasant receptionist than \"AC A,\" and was told a technician could be at my house the following day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.\n\nTwo technicians showed up at 10:30 a.m. (yeah!). They had my unit working as good as new in about five minutes. The compressor was fine -- not remotely burned. The unit needed a new condenser, which the technicians had in their van. They even gave me some screws to replace some of the ones the \"AC A\" technician took when he left my unit disassembled.\n\nI figure Autumn Air saved me about $1,300. The technicians were punctual, polite, and honest. I'm not calling \"AC A\" anymore -- only Autumn Air."^^ . "1"^^ . "0"^^ . . "2012-07-21T00:00:00"^^ . "0"^^ .
