Had claim free home insurance for 20 years. Premium increased this year by 16% so I called to find out why. After going through grilling about things that no longer existed when the house was built such as oil tanks, we went onto new metal roof and furnace which are supposed to lower the premium. It turns out the premium would be going even higher because the metal roof costs more to replace. Needless to say, I am shopping for new insurance. This would have been a zero star review but since the rep was polite and only doing her job I didn't feel right to rate her low. The problem is not the employee, it's the company. So for those of you proud of installing home improvements that should lower your premiums, beware.
