"ZENA," formerly Calypso Fin Bheara, our beloved nine (9) year old exotic ruddy Abyssinian cat who has been on a prescription renal diet for early-onset kidney disease for last two (2) years was taken in for her annual wellness check and vaccination(s.) Upon arrival and consultation with Steven Hall, D.V.M., given her medical history and record, it was decided to run a full clinical diagnostic laboratory chem 25 test panel; to include SDMA, which is a relatively new/novel clinically-significant biomarker for kidney function. 24 hour rapid turnaround-time for the reference laboratory test results revealed a slightly 'elevated/high' SDMA reading; which allowed us, with Doctor Hall's expert guidance, to make a better fully-informed decision in terms of dietary/nutritional modification to a new prescription renal care and support program.
