This race was where it all started. Great local race right in the heart of UIUC and it's perfect for people looking start their couch to 5k programs.
My wife and I had a goal just to finish before the 50 minutes were up and we just made it!
The 5k usually happens on the Friday night before the marathon. I haven't run the marathon but I have volunteered 2 years for my company at mile 24. It's a pretty flat race And very residential.
I loved this race for several reasons. 1) great parking ( UIUC campus parking) 2) the locals cheering you on 3) well organized 4) great medals for finishing 5) great for family runs!
