I have been a customer of Lapel's for years now. They do a great job with cleaning clothes. I had an incident occur about a year ago where they lost about 4-5 dress shirts. Jeff was kind enough to issue a credit for the misunderstanding. Recently I had an experience so bad it prompted me to rate them 1 Star! I went in on Sunday to drop off dry cleaning. This time I included items I normally do not take in. I pulled the items out of the bag and handed it to the woman who was helping me. She made a mistake on the system and was so confused with the error she never told me there was an up charge for specifics on the clothes I brought in. I understand there are different charges for different items. As a consumer it would be great to know what you are being charged before you complete the service. Lapel's does not post their charges anywhere for a consumer to see. They also do not post any rate increases like the most recent one that occurred on January 1st. (This was rudely informed to me by their GM Jerry. He said, McDonald's doesn't tell you if they raise their price on the Big Mac do they?" Even though it is listed on a menu board and you pay for what you are getting) Jerry said it is LEGAL for a company to raise their prices and it does not have to tell the consumer about the price increase. Not only did they raise their prices and up charge me for a dress i was never informed about but they damaged the dress, but then the GM insulted me by saying. "it's just a $200 dress, I deal with $10,000 dresses. Why are you crying over $200." I have a call into the owner Jeff and have not heard back from him yet. The entire time I just wanted an apology and for them to fix what they messed up nothing more. I even drove to their Gilbert office to talk to Jerry in person but he is too busy to talk to anyone. He had me talk to their tailor there who said without the missing pieces she can not fix the item. I even drove to Nordstrom with no success. At this point I have given up on the repair. The best part is I have yet to receive an apology, this is not customer service and this is what prompted a 1 Star rating.
