We were long time customers of Chas Roberts. Our unit stopped working this week (our luck 6 weeks after the warranty ended). The tech came out and told us we needed a motor which he ordered. It was on the pricey side. He came the next night to install it and then said he saw a potential leak and recommended another part with a price tag of just under $1800. I was suspicious to say the least so I received a second opinion. The second opinion said there was nothing wrong with the part Chas Roberts said we needed and that the unit was working fine (he did say that Chas Roberts was right that he couldn't of seen an error in that part they recommended until he had the unit up and going so the Chas tech didn't lie on that part, but of course we didn't need that part). Needless to say I will never work with Chas Roberts again. I called to cancel my maintenance plan. They did call back to apologize which I give them credit for but it doesn't change the fact that they recommended us spending $1800 that we didn't need to buy. Their tech also was recommending another unit which our second opinion person said we didn't need to do either.
