It used to be that the carmike was the theater you didn't want to go to. It was dingy and outdated. When people suggested seeing a movie, you looked up the times at Savoy. Both theaters have been remodeled in recent years, and the Carmike 13 has come out way ahead. The ticket and concessions counters are faster here, with more food and drink options (including beer!). The popcorn counter even lets you add your own butter, so you can add as little or as much as you'd like. The screens are larger and the seating is comfier. Even the humorously-named 'Big D' theater is just as good as the IMAX across town, while being cheaper too. When I want to see a movie, I definitely prefer Carmike 13 now.
