LSI surgeons refused to do a seated MRI prior to my surgery by them even though sitting worsened my sciatica more than any activity. They said they would figure it out after they got inside. More concern was paid to the $16,000 deposit than diagnosis and tests. There was minimal phone follow up after the operation and no rehab. My sciatica is worse than before my operation in Arizona and is still not as good as it was before the operation. My recovery was brutal and done from my own bed with a few sympathetic but unhelpful phone calls which I initiated. Newsweek did a scary article on them a couple of years back which I did not read until after my surgery disaster. Newsweek said that there is no evidence that clearing impinged nerves of compression had any effect on pain. I wasted my money, my time, and lessened my chance of a future recovery due to scar tissue from LSI's operation. There are many reasons for sciatica and they told me of only one reason - the one for which they had the magic cure i.e. the rotor rooter procedure that was completely ineffective. I would never recommend them or their procedure. This was the worst surgery experience of my entire life.
