SCAMMED
Took the long way on the highway through the tunnel to scam me. Refused to use local roads from the airport. Ride from airport to Luxor was $32.00. Ride from Mandalay Bay (technically farther way although next door) to airport was $14.00. Two different taxis. Two different rates. No traffic.
I would report the scum to the Nevada Taxi Cab Authority but it would be a complete waste of time.
Taxi cab companies are monopoly's and associated with the Mafia. They pay off politicians to keep their taxi cab monopoly with regulations which make it illegal or so costly for anyone else to compete. It's true. Look it up. This is my LAST taxi cab. I am now using Uber for all taxi's period. I can't believe the difference. Uber is half priced with a well dressed driver in a clean green friendly car. They showed up in literally minutes. You are quoted the price BEFORE you book and it's paid through PayPal over your smart phone Uber App.
I was quoted $270.00 for a taxi from Orlando to New Smyrna Beach. I used Uber and it was $102.00. Amazing. The car was new and clean. The driver well dressed articulate and polite. All Uber drivers are screened for criminal records and experience.
Regular taxi's are filthy. The cars are ugly yellow. The drivers smell or can't speak English and charge a fortune. They are crooks who take long routes to steal your money. Many have criminal records. Then the meter starts at $3-$5 the moment you sit in the car which is actually a form of theft in itself. Not surprising behavior considering the well known taxi cab companies Mafia ties.
I'm never using a Taxi cab after this again!
