Although I am at political odds with the owners of the Milkshake Factory, taste and quality have won out in the past and I used to recommend this place to everyone. Seriously. Everyone. I used to do tours of Pittsburgh for a very popular tour company and sent everyone there because in my opinion they were the best ice cream in the city of Pittsburgh. After not having been for a while, my mom and I stopped in to get a scoop of the Salted Caramel Truffle, only to discover that they have completely redesigned the ice cream section at the location on Carson Street. Not only that, they have greatly reduced the flavors of ice cream and only carry the basics. The most exotic is red velvet. They no longer salted caramel truffle, which was an enormous disappointment to us both. In addition, the quality was nowhere near what it used to be. I understand expansion is important in a business, but when it sacrifices quality, I think it's a mistake. I doubt I will be going here again.
