I want to start off by noting that the reviews I typically leave are positive and favorable and my way of trying to get others to use the service/product that I'm usually so pleased with.
However, my experience with Maid Affordable was beyond disappointing and frankly appalling. I have NEVER experienced anything like this and I'm dumbfounded as to how they have been in business for 40 years.
They offered a Living Social deal for 3 hours of cleaning for $80. Prior to buying this deal, I called to understand what the deal included (do they bring their own products, etc) and I spoke to Jerrielynn, the owner. She was very helpful and friendly and based on our conversation I purchased the Living Social deal. I then scheduled the cleaning through their site and Tammy, the scheduling person sent an email to me confirming my cleaning appointment.
The email however didn't state a time of arrival so I replied back asking if they could provide a window of time. I didn't hear back, but let it go, as I figured I'd hear from them the morning of. This was not the case - not only did they not show up the day of the cleaning appointment but my repeated messages (I called no less than 10 times) went unanswered, as did text messages and emails. Needless to say, I was beyond frustrated and disappointed as I was hosting a large party the next day.
I finally received an email from Jerrielynn where she says she was out of town during this incident and wrote "believe me when I say that I will taking care of this once I get back on Monday. This is not how I conduct business, we have been in business for well over 40 years and know that mistakes happen but once again this is and was un-called for! Please accept my personal apology as I will make it right."
Jerrielynn's email made me feel a bit better, but the damage was done and we were left scrambling to clean the house before our party. I let a few business days pass and hadn't heard from Jerrielynn on how she was "going to make it right." Long story short, she finally got in touch and offered to reschedule and said she "will have a team there, if I have to come out myself." So we set up a new date/time and once again - they were a no show. The kicker is - her company marked the Living Social voucher as used.
I write all this because I gave Jerrielynn and her company the benefit of the doubt to make their first no-show and lack of service right. However I was too trusting and feel like I was fooled, as to this day, I have not heard from Jerrielynn.
I recently saw another deal on Living Social for Maid Affordable and I'd highly recommend you NOT purchasing this.
I have no idea how she's been in business 40 years with the level of customer service I received (or lack thereof).
There are a million house cleaning services - please try one of the others and not Maid Affordable. You will be disappointed.
As I post this - I now see tons of unfavorable reviews. This is not a coincidence.
