Gave one star to get my point across. Long, long time shopper at Tuesday Mornings in Glendale and Sun City, like 17+ years. I have NEVER been treated so horribly as with the new manager in Sun City. Their registers were down and they did not want to let us in the store. But all she said was "The register is down." Lights were on, when she opened the door, the cool blast of air felt great for those few seconds. Does it not matter that customers drove 30 minutes or more to shop at their store. How ungrateful is that? Apparently its' "Policy over People". It's 11:00 am, and 109 degrees today as many of us stood there suffering in the heat as the employee, manager and her kids (who were eating ice cream in the store) watched us suffer in this heat. All she said was the registers down. So, I guess eventually it will come back up right. I suffer from heat related illness and get sick in the heat. My husband had to drive me there. How about learning to communicate, "The store is closed due to problems with the register." I assumed that the register might come back up and wanted to wait in the store. So that's policy, so ok, now we know, no register, no store. Planes aren't even taking off today in Phoenix due to the heat. But don't let them in! Its Policy! Why didn't she just say that. But I have NEVER had a manager go off the deep end as this manager did today. She was the most unprofessional, neurotic manager I have ever seen. I really left because I was fearful that she might do something. But her going off the deep end was just not acceptable. As I left I said "She's a raving lunatic", and the old red headed employee yelled, "No she's not!". Screamed at by both of them. Wow, got home, called Customer Service and left a message for management. Both of them should be fired, YESTERDAY! No wonder they have so much turnover in that store, they are not stable! Are the poor, paid next to nothing employees so afraid of management that they can't think outside the box? I would have bagged what people wanted, taken a name, phone number and said come back in 24 hours or they are back on the shelf. But, to people like these employees, its a job, there is no longer good common sense or good customer service or knowledge of how to manage and give great customer service.
