Heard so much about this place, but needed to come when there wasn't a wait. This morning, we accidentally woke up early, so we had our chance...
The pancakes are good. Not "blow your mind amazing", but good. Had the lemon ricotta, and they were light and fresh. Don't just dredge them in the cream cheese syrup, use it sparingly. Very sweet!
Huevos rancheros. "What kind of salsa do you want, red or green?" "What's the difference?" [blank look] "One is red, and one is green."
After the meal... "I am leaving the check for you. Have a nice day." Usually that's code for get the heck out, but the place was still half empty and there was no one waiting. We wanted a 2nd cup of coffee, but couldn't get anyone's attention. Finally gave up and left...got back in the car and realized that we'd spent a whole 20 minutes having breakfast.
So, fast food when the place isn't packed, but the service needs some training. We didn't feel welcomed enough to make this a regular stop, but will keep it in mind if we're in the mood for pancakes.
