Hi, I previously wrote a good review on this place. I have been taking my 3 rabbits for nail trimming for a few years now. Recently had a not so good experience bringing 1 rabbit in for medical care. My rabbit has urine burn/fur loss around but, and inner rear legs. Also has sores on feet, and a swelling ankle. I changed rabbit environment to foam padded floor and free roam. Also proved soft fluffy bedding. Took rabbit to Animal house, where DR Vidya francis shaved some of the fur, and washed rabbit with antibiotic shampoo. He took a skin scraping to send to lab to test for fungus. A few things that did not seem right, was that I was required to do a lot of the "assistance" work, such as hold the pet still. Also had to prompt the doctor on everything. Had to ask things like shouldnt the fur be trimmed? Shouldnt the area be washed? as a couple examples. I was told yes, that will be extra. So I wind up paying $400, where the Dr did a half assed job trimming the fur, and a brief wash. Where I had to do half the work. I was given a tube of hydrocortizone ointment and told to apply it.(no frequency given) I had to promt him for some method to keep rabbit from licking the ointment, and possibly poisening himself. I was given an old broken cone for the neck. Wound up buying a new one at pet store. I feel kind of ripped off paying 400 for a tube of ointment that costs 88 cents at walmart, and some half assed instructions. Looked on yelp, and noticed one person talking about veterinary displinary board actions. I explored that and found it to be true. He pleaded guilty to things like charging money for lab tests, but not actually doing them, negligence, giving off brand drugs in incorrect doses killing pets. Kind of some scary stuff if you may need to trust this guy with youre pet for a surgury. Go look it up and you will see. I talked with him about all of that and said 400 was a bit much for what he did, and asked him to refund 100 dollars. He did refund that after I pointed out what I found out. He got angry and defensive, and accused me of being a racist and white supremacist, and a gang banger., because I listen to people on yelp criticizing his accent.(that is kind of funny, because I am a clean cut retired military guy, no tattos. ) I told him no, I was concerned about the veterinary disipline actions that were a result of real investigations from the people that give him his license, and pointed to the fact that he did plead guilty in all those cases. And paid thousands in fines. His license was also suspended for 2 years. I think some good advice would be to avoid this guy for real medical issues. There are good doctors to see that dont plead guilty to negligence and wrong doing multiple times. I also did make him give me a printout of the record of what he did, and have a appointment with another vet. I did find that no he did not deal with a real lab, but claims he has an onsite lab. Yeah sure he does. Update: This clown had given me a tube of corticosteroids cream for rabbit. New vet claims that steroidal creams are dangerous for rabbits, and can cause immune system failure, and kidney liver damage. What a quack!
