ABC15.com Phoenix police are investigating a deadly shooting at Knights Inn hotel in north Phoenix. The shooting happened around midnight on Monday in the area of Interstate 17 and McDowell Road. ABC15 crews on the scene saw Phoenix Police Special Assignment Unit (SAU) making entry into one of the rooms where the body of a man was located. The man had reportedly been shot. According to information at the scene, the suspected shooter has been taken into custody. Police say they are investigating whether the shooting was an act of self-defense. This is the second night in a row Phoenix police were called out to the Knights Inn to investigate a deadly shooting -- a 26-year-old rapper was killed while celebrating his birthday early Sunday
