Went to play a round yesterday at 3:25.... Well, I attempted to. When I got there, I asked the guy in the pro shop if it was crowded - his response was - not at all... couple of twosomes, maybe a threesome but you'll be fine. The first 5 holes were somewhat slow but figured what the heck- it's Troon North. By the time the 5th hole came it was stopped dead due to a group of 5 playing slow because they were behind a group of 6! Never in my 30 years of golf have I seen anything like this. Place was packed. Three groups on one tee. Called the pro shop, same kid answered, had a horrible attitude- didn't really care and told me it was Friday afternoon and it was crowded. Told him about the ridiculously large groups and he said we'll take care of it... I ended up going backwards and playing the same holes I started on... I paid $50 to play 16 holes, the front nine twice. On my way in I passed the same groups on 17. They had joined to be a group of 11, yep that's right 11! They were driving over tee boxes, greens, acting stupid and blasting music. Telling the cart kid what happened- he said - Oh, that was a bachelor party and we kinda expected it... Shame on you Troon North! Shame on you... My advice- go somewhere else and save some money.
