From start to finish, my stay at the Monaco Pittsburgh was amazingly stellar.
When I set out to move back to the DC area from Chicago, I wanted to take the best route possible, in the quickest amount of time, and I saw that Pittsburgh was the easiest stopping point, keeping in mind that I was also looking for Kimpton hotels AND had my two cats with me.
I get an email the day before letting me know that the St. Patrick's Day parade would be coming through and therefore I wouldn't be able to leave until around 2 p.m. if I valeted my car. No biggie for me, since the Pittsburgh to DC route was shorter and I wasn't going to complain about sleeping in.
Everyone was amazingly nice when I checked in. I had called and asked in advance to ask whether or not they had a litter box and kitty litter, and they had the box, although it was taken by another kitty guest when I arrived. They were nice enough to run out and get both, as well as additional wet food since I had left mine in my car. They even brought me special kitty food bowls.
The room service staff were a dream, and they were kind enough to ask me how everything was later.
The room was beautifully appointed- and one big benefit was that there was no place to hide under the bed for the kitties (although one kitty loved climbing on the high headboard).
The only hiccup was later when I asked for a late checkout because I thought I wasn't going to be able to get my car- I got a little confused when they told me no- but come to find out it was because they had parked valet cars in advance of the parade. Score!
Highly recommend- and I'll be back when I happen to be in Pittsburgh again.
