We received a cake yesterday for my grandmother's birthday. When we cut into the cake, we realized that the bottom layer never rose. We had noticed earlier when we picked it up that the cake was short. It looked like about a layer and a half. When we all tried it, we thought it was very chewy and hard and it just didn't taste right, kinda like there was paper in it. We didn't save any of it to show the bakery but we did call them today to give them a heads up about the quality of the cake only to get horrible customer service from the manager. She was very unsympathetic, disrespectful AND she hung up on me!! She was horrible to my mom as well! We never asked for a refund OR a free cake, we just wanted them to know what happened so that maybe they could look into what may have happened during the baking process to prevent this from happening again but no one there believed us. They could care less if we were unhappy or if we ever came back again. In this economy you think you WOULD care! Especially when its a small, family owned business! No one finished the cake at the party so that was a total waste of $30 - $40. Personally I think Glaziers cakes are wayyyyy better and cost much less. My mom & I just wanted to be heard & treated with respect. Customer service is more important than some people think. My family & I will not be returning to Leopold's for future cakes
